Part of my daily mission in life is to help the people at Covenant House California (CHC), both the staff and the sheltered teenagers, with whatever I can to ease their difficult days. Being a staff at CHC, though in fulfillment of their employment and are paid for the tasks, is a very stressful, emotional but rewarding job to venture in. Similarly, the residents were homeless or juveniles before they decided to get shelter from CHC. Therefore, these group of people, the staff and clients need caring, love and assistance in any small way that we can contribute.
I had been a dedicated volunteer at CHC for years now, doing all sorts of duties, depending on what the circumstances call for. I had mentored clients for Math even though I am not that good in Algebra and Geometry myself, when I was in school. I guide and advise them in dealing with life. I am also a volunteer driver at CHC. I share with them some religious and spiritual knowledge based on their interest. The most rewarding for everyone is building a house in Tijuana and delivering to the poor families some donated clothings, linens, toys and simply spending time with the community.
In the past, I shared my meditation experience at CHC. Below is a sample of my first invitations to the clients who resisted the notion in the first few minutes but ultimately enjoyed and requested for follow-up classes since.
May I invite you to help me support the community either with your own time or by allowing me to represent you in your real estate needs. Thank you for sharing and making a difference! Visit http://www.covdove.org or www.covenanthouse.org
